Frequently Asked Questions
-
The free consultation is a brief conversation that allows us to discuss what you are seeking and determine whether my experience and approach may be a good fit.
You may ask questions about therapy, scheduling, insurance, fees, or what it would be like to work together. I may also ask a few questions about your concerns and what you hope to receive from therapy.
The consultation is not a therapy session and does not establish an ongoing therapeutic relationship.Description text goes here

My style is warm, grounded, collaborative, and honest.
Sessions provide space for you to process what you are carrying while also identifying patterns, developing practical skills, and considering new ways of responding. I will offer observations and gently challenge patterns when appropriate, but I will not tell you how you should live your life.
Our work will move at a pace that respects your needs and nervous system while helping you make meaningful progress.
-
The first session gives us time to discuss what led you to therapy, what you are currently experiencing, and what you would like to change.
I may ask about your history, relationships, health, work, current stressors, coping strategies, and previous experiences with therapy. You will also have opportunities to ask questions and share anything you believe is important for me to understand.
You do not need to arrive with everything organized or know exactly what your goals should be. We will begin making sense of your concerns together.
-
Standard individual therapy sessions are approximately 53 minutes. Intake appointments generally last 53 to 60 minutes.
The appropriate session length and frequency can be discussed based on your clinical needs, treatment goals, insurance coverage, and schedule.
-
The length of therapy varies based on your concerns, goals, history, session frequency, and the changes you want to make. Some clients seek support for a specific concern, while others want to explore patterns that have developed over many years. We will regularly discuss your progress and whether therapy continues to meet your needs.
You are not committing to a predetermined number of sessions by scheduling a consultation.
-
Many clients begin with weekly sessions so that we can establish a consistent therapeutic relationship and build momentum. Depending on your needs and progress, we may eventually discuss meeting less frequently.
Session frequency is determined collaboratively and may also be affected by clinical need, scheduling, and insurance requirements.

Yes. Weathered Grace Therapy is a telehealth-only practice.
Sessions are conducted through a secure video platform, allowing you to attend from a private location within Pennsylvania. You will need a reliable internet connection, a device with video and audio, and a space where you can speak confidentially.
-
Weathered Grace Therapy is not a crisis or emergency service and cannot provide immediate or continuous crisis response.
If you are experiencing an emergency, believe you may harm yourself or someone else, or need immediate assistance, call 911, call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or go to the nearest emergency department.
-
I work primarily with adult women who are natural caretakers, high-achievers, educators, caregivers, and helping professionals. Many of my clients are struggling with anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, people-pleasing, over-functioning, compassion fatigue, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling disconnected from who they are.
You do not need to identify with every description on this website to reach out. We can use the consultation to determine whether my approach fits what you are experiencing.
-
Nervous system-informed therapy considers how your body responds to stress, not only what you think about your experiences.
We may explore physical signs of activation, overwhelm, or shutdown and identify what happens before you automatically begin fixing, pleasing, withdrawing, overthinking, or pushing through. You can then practice ways to create greater steadiness and respond with more intention.
This approach recognizes that behaviors commonly labeled as overreactions or personal weaknesses may be protective responses your system learned over time.
-
Weathered Grace Therapy currently accepts Aetna, Highmark, and Optum plans.
Insurance participation does not guarantee that your specific plan will cover services. Coverage, copayments, deductibles, and authorization requirements vary. You are encouraged to contact your insurance company to confirm your outpatient mental health and telehealth benefits before beginning therapy.
Please contact Weathered Grace Therapy directly for the most current information about accepted plans.
-
Yes. You may choose to pay privately rather than use insurance.
Some clients prefer self-pay because they do not want an insurance company involved in their care. When insurance is used, a mental health diagnosis is generally required, and the insurer may determine which services are eligible for reimbursement.
We can discuss payment options during your consultation.
-
It is common to understand your patterns intellectually while still having difficulty changing them.
Previous therapy may have helped you develop insight, but your body may continue responding automatically to stress, conflict, uncertainty, or other people’s needs. A nervous system-informed approach can build on what you already know by exploring the physical and emotional responses that keep familiar patterns in place.
Having attended therapy before does not mean you failed or that additional therapy cannot help.
-
You must be physically located in Pennsylvania at the time of each therapy session because I am licensed to provide therapy in Pennsylvania.
You do not necessarily need to maintain a permanent Pennsylvania residence, but I cannot conduct a therapy session while you are physically located in another state unless legally permitted to do so.
-
The first step is scheduling a free consultation.
We will briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, what you are looking for, and whether my approach may be a good fit. If we decide to move forward, we will schedule your intake appointment and you will receive the necessary forms through the secure client portal.
