The Weathered Grace Approach

Less surviving. More living.

You've gotten pretty good at holding everything together. Maybe a little too good.

But therapy isn't about helping you become even better at managing an overwhelming life. It's about understanding what's keeping you stuck, reconnecting with yourself, and making meaningful changes that actually fit the life you want to live.

I believe good therapy involves more than talking about what happened this week (although we'll absolutely do that, too!). It's about connecting the dots, getting curious about what's underneath the stress, and finding ways to move forward that make sense for YOU.

Our work is collaborative, practical, and tailored to your needs. While everyone's experience is different, there are three areas we'll explore along the way.

01 | RECOGNIZE

Understand the patterns. Find your footing.

Because sometimes you need to understand what's happening before you can figure out what to do about it. The anxiety. The exhaustion. The constant overthinking. That nagging feeling that no matter how much you do, it's never quite enough. Sound familiar? Before we start trying to change everything, let's figure out what's actually going on.

We'll explore how your nervous system responds to stress, recognize the patterns contributing to your overwhelm, and begin finding practical ways to feel more grounded.

We'll focus on:

  • Recognizing anxiety, burnout, and signs of nervous system overload

  • Understanding how stress shows up in your thoughts, emotions, and body

  • Identifying triggers and patterns of perfectionism, people-pleasing, and over-functioning

  • Developing practical tools for emotional regulation and nervous system support

  • Beginning to separate what's within your control from what you've been carrying for everyone else

What this looks like in therapy:

  • We'll connect the dots between your experiences, thoughts, emotions, and physical responses. You'll begin recognizing what sends your nervous system into overdrive, how certain patterns developed, and what helps you feel more grounded.

  • We'll explore practical coping strategies, grounding techniques, and ways to respond to stress without automatically slipping into survival mode.

  • And yes, sometimes we'll start with whatever happened this week that made you think, "I seriously cannot keep doing this!"

The goal? Less overwhelm, more understanding, and a little breathing room.

02 | RECONNECT

Find your way back to YOU.

You've spent so much time showing up for everyone else. What about you?

Somewhere between the responsibilities, expectations, and endless to-do lists, it's easy to lose touch with what you actually want and need.

Maybe you've become so accustomed to keeping the peace, anticipating everyone's needs, or being the dependable one that putting yourself first feels downright uncomfortable.

This is where we get curious about the roles, beliefs, and expectations you've been living by—and whether they still fit the person you are today.

What this looks like in therapy:

  • We'll explore the experiences that shaped your expectations, challenge beliefs that no longer serve you, and clarify the values you want guiding your life.

  • We'll practice boundaries, work through the guilt that sometimes follows, and continue developing ways to regulate your nervous system when old patterns get activated.

  • Because here's the thing: You can be kind, compassionate, capable, and dependable without being available to everyone, all the time.

  • And wanting something for yourself? That doesn't automatically make you selfish.

We'll focus on:

  • Exploring your personal values and what genuinely matters to you

  • Understanding how past experiences influence current patterns and relationships

  • Untangling guilt, obligation, and people-pleasing

  • Recognizing beliefs that tie your self-worth to productivity or taking care of others

  • Identifying your needs and developing healthier boundaries

  • Building self-trust and learning to advocate for yourself

The goal? Less guilt, stronger boundaries, more self-trust, and remembering that YOU matter, too.

03 | REALIGN

Build a life that has room for YOU.

Knowing what needs to change is one thing. Actually changing it? That's where the work gets interesting.

I love a good "Well, THAT explains a lot!" moment. But insight alone doesn't always change the way we live.

Now we focus on taking what you've learned about yourself and putting it into practice. Not by reinventing yourself or adding 17 more things to your to-do list, but by making intentional choices that reflect your needs, values, and priorities.

We'll focus on:

  • Translating your values into meaningful, everyday decisions

  • Practicing boundaries and healthier relationship patterns

  • Responding to stress without automatically returning to over-functioning

  • Strengthening confidence, self-trust, and emotional flexibility

  • Creating sustainable habits that support your well-being

  • Learning how to navigate setbacks without falling into old cycles of guilt and self-criticism

What this looks like in therapy:

  • We'll work through real-life situations, practice new responses, notice what's changing, and adjust what isn't working.

  • We'll continue using the nervous system regulation tools you've developed while finding ways to act on what matters to you—even when uncomfortable feelings, old expectations, or other people's reactions show up.

  • Let's face it. Life isn't suddenly going to stop throwing curveballs. People will still make ridiculous requests, work will still get stressful, and things won't always go according to plan.

  • But you can learn to navigate those moments without automatically taking responsibility for everything.

The goal? More confidence, more intentional living, and a life that feels like YOURS.

A thoughtful approach, not a rigid formula.

These three phases aren't a checklist, a race to the finish line, or another set of expectations you need to meet. They're a framework that gives our work direction while leaving plenty of room for your individual needs, experiences, and goals. We might explore values during our first session. We might return to nervous system regulation months into therapy. We may work on boundaries, emotional regulation, and relationship patterns all at once.

That's not getting off track. That's therapy.

My approach is nervous-system-informed, somatic, and values-based, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and emotional regulation strategies. We'll balance practical tools with deeper exploration, because sometimes you need something that helps you get through Tuesday—and sometimes you need to understand why every Tuesday feels so darn exhausting.

The goal isn't to become a completely different person. Not someone new. Just more YOU than you've felt in a long time. Let's make some room for you.

I offer individual online therapy for women throughout Pennsylvania.

You don't have to know exactly where to begin. We'll figure that out together.
